Count your nature!

Monday, June 6, 2011

This year’s RSPB ‘Make Your Nature Count’ survey has received the enthusiastic support of Meg Munn MP. As a long-time RSPB member who loves spending time in her own garden, Meg is happy to encourage others to learn more about what croaks, flaps, cheeps and shuffles about in their garden.

‘Make Your Nature Count’ is a one-hour survey of your garden or local park on any day between the 4th to the 12th June. The RSPB would like to know about the birds that share your green spaces and there should be plenty for you to see and enjoy as birds will be busy feeding hungry chicks or guarding nests.

They would also like to find out how other creatures are doing, such as badgers, bats, snakes or frogs. Last year the RSPB collected results from over 69,000 gardens in the UK and hope to hear from more this year.

“With this beautiful weather we’re experiencing at the moment, now is the time to get out in the garden and discover what’s out there. The results the RSPB saw last year were fantastic, but hopefully this year we can delve a little deeper and learn about the animals that are living alongside the birds.”
