MADE in Sheffield

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Sheffield’s MADE Festival 2012 celebrating business from across Britain providing opportunities for thousands of entrepreneurs to network and be inspired was held last week in the city. The festival began in 2010 when Sheffield rose to the challenge to provide a platform for new insight and ideas. This year’s themes are ‘MADE in Britain’ bringing together some of the country’s most successful business leaders and ‘Going Global’ providing opportunities on the world stage.

During the festival Meg Munn MP visited and in the exhibition hall met Kate Levick and Catherine Beatty, managers from Aizlewood Business Centre in Sheffield. The centre, located in Aizlewood’s mill and built in 1861, provides a variety of business services and facilities.  It is home to Sheffield Co-operative Development Group (SCDG) who promote the development of co-operatives and other enterprises which offer people opportunities to increase control over their working lives.

Meg said:

“The MADE Festival is one of Sheffield’s largest business events bringing together organisations from all over the country and entrepreneurs from all over the world. I enjoyed speaking to so many business leaders and seeing a real buzz of ideas all happening in the City Hall.”
