Sheffield Head’s meet the Minister

Monday, October 23, 2006

Two Sheffield Head teachers had the chance to talk directly to Schools Minister Jim Knight recently after local MP Meg Munn arranged a face-to-face meeting for them.

Sheila Haigh; of Arbourthorne School, and Chris Thew; of Woodthorpe School, discussed a variety of issues about the system of Ofsted inspections.

Both schools have seen their fortunes change for the better over the last couple of years - new school buildings and modern state-of-the-art equipment being installed as part of the government’s investment in education. However both Head teachers have concerns over the details of their respective school’s Ofsted reports and Meg arranged for them to have the opportunity to express them to the appropriate Minister at the Department for Education and Skills in London.
