Meg Munn and Terry Fox celebrate good news for Anns Grove School

Thursday, September 5, 2002

Meg Munn, Labour MP for Sheffield Heeley, and Heeley ward Councillor Terry Fox have today welcomed the decision of the Council to consult on building a brand new school for Anns Grove.

Plans initially were to amalgamate the Lowfield and Anns Grove Primary Schools but local parents and campaigners were concerned that there would be road safety issues and problems with integration at such a school.

Meg said "Government investment is much needed in local schools and these proposals are very welcome. I am sure that the latest proposals will provide the best solution for local children."

Terry said "It is very heartening to see the Labour Council consulting locally, listening and taking notice of what parents and local people want. This is great news for local parents and their children."
