Meg Munn officially launches her website

Thursday, September 12, 2002

Meg Munn, Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament for Sheffield Heeley, this week became the only Sheffield MP to have her own website.

The website at www.megmunnmp.org.uk  has been designed to offer an extra service and resource to constituents, details of how Meg can help and all of her latest news and photographs.

The site was officially launched at a very exciting and high-tech event on Tuesday September 10th at South Sheffield City Learning Centre, Newfield School, Sheffield, and the invited guests included young IT students from the school and some IT adult learners from around the area.

Meg said

“I wanted to officially launch the site, after a period of testing, to let as many people as possible know all about it.  I do hope that the public use the site, it isn’t just about my latest news and the ways in which I represent or help people, there are also links to lots of other Sheffield based websites and political websites too. So it is designed to be the kind of resource you can keep coming back to.

I thought the City Learning Centre was a very appropriate venue because it is a brand new, state of the art ICT centre. It has been created to enable the whole community - school students, school staff, parents and families, community groups and local businesses - to make the most of the new “Information Age.”

The staff at the CLC were very helpful at the launch, I want to thank them and I also want to thank Colin Sewell, the site designer, who has done such a great job”
