Watch out! new rules for TV and Radio

PUBLIC MEETING

Tuesday 3 December, 2002 at 7pm, Showroom Cinema, Paternoster Row, Sheffield.

A public meeting about the new Communications Bill and the effect that this will have on all aspects of our communications from telephones and computers to TV and radio. The Bill will be considered by both Houses of Parliament over the next few months. Speakers are:

- Lord Andrew McIntosh, speaking for the Government
- Lord Tom McNally (a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee which examined the draft Bill)
- Steve Buckley, Director of the Community Media Association and Chair of Public Voice
- Sylvia Harvey, Sheffield Hallam University & AHRB Centre for British Film and Television Studies

Chair: Ros Brunt, Research Fellow Media Studies, Sheffield Hallam University

All welcome. The event is free but space is limited and you may wish to book a seat in advance with the Showroom Box Office (Tel:0114-275-7727). The cinema is located above Sheaf Square, close to the main Sheffield railway station.

Refreshments are available from 6.45pm.
