A gift for Sheffield RSPCA

Thursday, June 8, 2006

On the week Sheffield RSPCA announced that they had secured land for their new animal centre on Stadium Way in Attercliffe, Heeley MP Meg Munn paid a visit. Whilst being updated on the new plans, as well as discussing some of the remaining issues regarding the new centre, Meg presented them with a cheque for £50. The cheque was given on Meg’s behalf to the charity by Mori after she completed a parliamentary poll for them.

Meg said;

‘As an animal lover myself I was happy to help Sheffield RSPCA. The plans for their new premises look very impressive, and will provide a state of the art animal sanctuary for vulnerable animals. There are a few funding problems which a project on this scale is likely to have, but I will do all I can to assist them.’

All the animals at the current centre on Spring Street have been fostered out as re-development of the area continues. Work on the new centre will begin within the next two months.
