Talking about water

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Sheffield Heeley MP Meg Munn recently met with Rob Salmon, Director of Corporate Affairs, and Louise King, Stakeholder Engagement Manager for Yorkshire Water to discuss their new business plan for the next 5 years. Details in the plan included information on future bills for customers and planned upgrades of the region’s water network.

They also discussed Yorkshire Water’s community programmes, including the plan which Greenhill Primary School will benefit from. The School is to have a new garden as part of the ‘One Million Green Fingers’ volunteering initiative.

Meg said:

‘It was good to hear about Yorkshire Water’s future investment plans for Sheffield; especially its community engagement work. The ‘One Million Green Fingers’ initiative is an interesting scheme to encourage more practical learning outside the classroom. I plan to visit Greenhill Primary to see the finished garden soon.’
