Visiting Extra-Care Housing in Jordanthorpe

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Sheffield Heeley MP Meg Munn recently visited the site of the Extra-Care Housing Scheme in Jordanthorpe being developed by the South Yorkshire Housing Association. White Willows, as it will be known, will replace the last existing tower block on Dyche Lane.

The scheme consists of 60 self-contained apartments, 45 for rent via nominations from Sheffield City Council, 9 for shared ownership, and 6 for outright sale.  All the apartments have 2 bedrooms.  All areas of the building are accessible to wheelchair users.

Meg said:

“This new housing scheme is a state-of-the-art facility with modern conveniences and requirements for people in their later years. These apartments will create their own community whilst allowing residents their individual privacy. I am sure those who eventually move into White Willows will enjoy the facilities on offer.”
