A Bright Future for Woodseats

Local MP Meg Munn recently visited Woodseats Primary School to meet Head teacher Susan Russell to discuss the school’s progress, and have a question and answer session with the Year6s.

 

Susan told Meg about how the school is constantly pushing to achieve more and how they plan to provide a strong learning environment. They also value the close relationship they have with Meadowhead comprehensive.

 

Woodseats has just taken part in a Maths week, where the students engaged in various activities related to mathematics, including working with local businesses.  They have also decided to promote the playing of music and virtually all their students play some form of instrument.

 

After a tour around the school Meg met Year6 and answered the many questions they had prepared for her. The questions asked covered all areas of Parliamentary business and local issues, especially the traffic problem on Woodseats. One thing the children would like to see on Woodseats is a community centre and larger library.

“It was a good visit and I was very pleased to see the school doing well. They provide a lot of stimulation for their students, and the children appear to enjoy it.”
