School Question Time

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Local MP, Meg Munn, went back to school recently to visit pupils at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary school, located in the Beauchief and Greenhill ward of her constituency.

Meg met members of the school council to explain her role as their local Member of Parliament and to take their questions about what she does as local MP. They discussed various issues, from Scottish Independence to how MPs vote in the House of Commons by going through the Aye and No lobbies. School council members asked her a range of questions including: Can there only be one party in opposition? Do you like Mr Cameron? and: Is anyone allowed to argue with you?

Meg said:

“School Council members from St Thomas of Canterbury’s asked me some very thoughtful and interesting questions. I had to explain how Parliament worked in some detail! I was very impressed by all of the pupils I met and I really enjoyed my visit to their school.”
