Meg impressed by new homes for Norfolk Park

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Meg Munn MP recently visited the Cutler’s View housing development at Norfolk Park to see the 116 new properties which are being constructed.

The development is by the Sheffield Housing Company, a joint venture between the city council, regeneration specialist Keepmoat and Great Places Housing Group.  Keepmoat are building the properties and Great Places manage the affordable rented homes. Over the next 15 years the aim is to develop 2,300 new homes.

During a tour of the development Project Director Tom Fenton explained that the aim of the project is to transform parts of the city by providing modern, sustainable and adaptable homes which local people can afford. Meg discussed with Tom, John Clephan the Regeneration Manager at the city council and Mark Knight from Keepmoat the progress of this and other housing projects they have in hand.

Meg said:

“I was really impressed with the development at Cutler’s View, a great long term project which is committed to supporting the local community and helping to repopulate this part of Norfolk Park.

The fact that a significant proportion of sales so far have been to first time buyers shows how affordable the homes are.”
