Meg Congratulates Local Schools Success

Monday, October 18, 2004

Sheffield Heeley MP Meg Munn recently presented five local schools with their new computer equipment which they had won as part of the Tesco ‘Computer for Schools’ scheme. Carfield Primary, Greenhill School, Meersbrook Bank County School, Mundella Primary and Woodseats Primary all took part in the scheme and Meg was keen to praise their success.

Meg said,

‘I am delighted to be again involved with the presentation for this scheme and I would like to congratulate the schools on their success. The scheme has provided extra computing resources to many schools in my constituency and I would encourage people to help their local schools by taking part next year.’

The scheme ran between March and May this year when shoppers at Tesco’s received a voucher for every £10 they spent which were then exchanged for computer equipment for schools. The scheme has been going for many years and this is the third year at which Meg has presented local schools with the equipment. To date, the scheme has given away £92 million worth of equipment including 55,000 computers and other additional IT related items. The scheme is set to run again next year between 7th March and 15th May.

For any more information on how to take part or how your school can enter visit your local Tesco store or visit www.tesco.com.
