Methodists ask the Questions

Saturday, February 12, 2005

Meg was asked to take part in a ‘Question Time’ session at the bi-annual meeting of the Methodist Church held at Swanick, Derbyshire, on Saturday 5th February. The audience numbered around 300, who asked a wide range of questions on church and world affairs.

One of the other panel members was Mvume Dandala, General Secretary of the All Africa Conference of Churches. He unintentionally got the audience laughing by admitting he had never heard of ‘binge drinking’ - when it was explained to him he thought it a bad idea! Other panel members were David Deeks, General Secretary of the British Methodist Church, and Susan Johnson, who works for the Church. Roger Hutchings did the onerous job of chairing the meeting.
